What is the Survival Manual?

the Survival Manual is a list of resources and agencies to assist those who are struggling with illness, homelessness, hunger and/or addiction or people looking for ways they can contribute to their communities by helping those in need

My agency is listed in the survival manual but I did not add it, why is that? How can I edit my profile?

we have added the general details of every agency and resource that have agreed to be listed in the PRINT VERSION of the survival manual, if you have an email address listed in the print version your user id and password will have been emailed to you, if you need that information to be sent again please send a request to admin@survivalmanual.org

How do I obtain a user ID and password so that I can add my agency to the Survival Manual?

if your agency is presently listed in the survival manual:

an account already exists for your agency, send an email to admin@survivalmanual.org to retrieve your user id and password so that you can log in and EDIT your profile

if your agency IS NOT presently listed in the survival manual:

email admin@survivalmanual.org with these 5 pieces of information - all information is kept in the strictest of confidence:

desired user id - if someone has already been assigned this user id I will change it slightly

password - at least 7 characters with a least one non-alphanumeric character - for example hel-loo would work beautifully

email address - very important, I will send you your user id and password to this email address

security question and security answer - this is in case your forget your user id and password, they could be anything - for example q: city of birth a: vancouver

Agency Name - I need to make sure that you belong to a legitimate agency that relates to the resources supplied in the survival manual

What kind of information can I include in my profile?

you can include a variety of information in your Agency's Profile:

• a category or categories where your agency will bea category or categories where your agency will be listed
  • a list of categories can be found on the page, please add your agency to ALL pertinent categories
• general information such as the address of your agency
• images; .gifs for logos, .jpgs for photos
• pdfs for informational documents and forms
• staff directory
• additional information for clients

how many files can I upload to my Agency's Profile?

as many as you'd like

only common/accessible web formats - jpgs for photos, gif's for images (flat colors), and .pdfs for print documents

what resolution should my images be?

screen resolution is best - 72dpi, you can upload any size image but it will be displayed in your profile at 300 pixels wide

why can I only see 1 image on my profile:
