WISH Drop In Centre Society

Operated by women for the exclusive use of female survival sex workers aged 19 and over, the WISH Drop-In Centre Society furnishes a variety of services within a nurturing and non-judgmental environment. In addition to meeting essential needs by serving nutritious, hot meals, providing showering facilities, dispensing make-up, hygiene items, and clothing, WISH offers on-site nursing care, referrals to detoxification centres, rehabilitation houses, and shelters for upwards of 150 women per night.

Vancouver Bashline

Provides short-term counselling, information and referral for LGBT persons regarding instances of anti-queer violence and same-sex relationship violence. (Currently only available in Vancouver).

Family Services of Greater Vancouver

Safe House is a voluntary seven-day co-ed residential program for youth aged 16 - 18 years who are absent from home and street-involved or in danger of becoming so. Safe House also accepts parenting teens. The program has access to support services for assistance in finding accommodations, education, and work. It provides referrals for addiction issues, pregnancy, legal problems, medical concerns/care cards, and advocacy with the Ministry of Children and Family Development and issues relating to income assistance.

Centralized access for youth detox (withdrawal management) services.Community resources in the Downtown Eastside data base.

DEYAS Youth Detox

Residential Withdrawal Management Program for youth 13-21 years of age. Youth can stay up to seven days and the resource is staffed 24 hours a day. Also provides counselling, referrals, transitional support, social and recreational activities, life skills training and harm reduction information.


Home detox day program for individuals whose substance misuse does not require residential detox. Structured program with scheduled appointments offering counselling, education, support, acupuncture and alternative therapies.

Long-term residential programs for adult women (19+) overcoming addiction & related issues of poverty, abuse, violence and/or homelessness.
