We'd like to tell you three things: You're not alone. There are always many different ways to cope with problems. We're here to listen. Your anonymity is assured here. We can offer you resources and support to help you work through your situation.

Youth Against Violence Line

The Youth Against Violence Line is a 24 hour, province-wide help line that offers young people one-on-one support and information to help them deal with issues of youth violence or crime. It is a safe and anonymous way for them to report - or prevent - violent incidents and criminal activity, or get assistance  with other problems such as bullying, gangs, harassment, or sexual explotation.

WAVAW - Rape Crisis Centre

WAVAW offers a toll-free, confidential 24 hour crisis line that is answered  by empathetic and skilled support workers. Callers can call 24 hours a day to find immediate emotional support. Crisis line support workers are there to listen, to provide non-judgmental support and if needed. They can provide additional information on counselling services available or make referrals to other specialized victim assistance programs and agencies.

Vancouver Rape Relief and Women's Shelter

Call us anytime. We take emergency calls all day and through the night, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We operate a shelter for women and their kids. If you need a safe place to stay in order to escape or prevent an attack, our transition house is available to you. Try not to be isolated from other women who would understand your situation.24 hours/7 days a week. We operate a shelter for women and their kids. Basic Dentistry - Must be 17 years or older. Please call each facility for appointment times and hours of service. Ask if the facility offers reduced fees.

Société Inform’ Elles Society

Inform Ells is a free provincial service. It provides emotional support, information and referrals to all French-speaking women living in BC, and who:- Are abused- Are feeling isolated and need to talk- Are re-assessing their lives and would like guidance- Have questions on parenting, health or legal issues- Need information in French/English about community resources in BC.

Sage Transition House - North Shore Crisis Services Society

Transition house for women and children fleeing abuse. General support, 30 day stay. 24 hour crisis line. Outreach services for women experiencing abuse, present or in the past living on the North Shore. Roundlake Treatment Center

Round Lake Treatment Centre is an accredited 36-bed alcohol and drug abuse treatment facility located on the Okanagan Indian Reserve near Vernon in British Columbia's Okanagan Valley. Programs in addictions treatment are offered to clients from throughout the province, with a focus on holistic healing and First Nations’ culture. It is situated in a private, park-like setting on the edge of scenic Round Lake.

Powell Place Shelter for Women

26-bed emergency shelter provides accommodation and three meals daily for single women and lesbian couples who are experiencing crisis. Gives support and provides information regarding available resources. Staffed 24 hours a day.

Mental Health Emergency Service (Car 87)

Car 87 teams a Vancouver Police constable with a registered nurse or a registered psychiatric nurse to provide on-site assessments and intervention for people with psychiatric problems.

On the phone, Kids Help Phone provides immediate, bilingual, professional counselling to kids 24-hours a day. On the web, Kids Help Phone provides counselling to young people in the “Ask a Counsellor” section. Kids can also get help through our online “Help Yourself” services: reading questions from other kids in the “Ask a Counsellor” section and benefiting from the counselors’ responses; visiting the “Express Yourself” section; and visiting the informational topic library.

Crisis Center (Crisis Intervention and Suicide prevention)

The Distress Line provides confidential, non-judgmental, free emotional support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for people experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including feelings which may lead to suicide. We are here for you if you're worried about something, feel upset or confused, or you just want to talk to someone. You don't have to be suicidal to call us.

Covenant House Vancouver

Our 22-bed crisis shelter is open 24 hours a day and helps young people aged 16 - 22.Young people self refer to the shelter on a first-come, first-served basis. When a young person first arrives, we take care of their immediate needs First, which is often medical care and always food and rest.

CART (Child and Adolescent Response Team)

Provides urgent response to mental health-related crises involving school-age children and youth, and their families. Provides short-term therapy, resources, and referral coordination; psychiatric assessment also available. Service offered on weekdays only.
