WISH Drop In Centre Society

Operated by women for the exclusive use of female survival sex workers aged 19 and over, the WISH Drop-In Centre Society furnishes a variety of services within a nurturing and non-judgmental environment. In addition to meeting essential needs by serving nutritious, hot meals, providing showering facilities, dispensing make-up, hygiene items, and clothing, WISH offers on-site nursing care, referrals to detoxification centres, rehabilitation houses, and shelters for upwards of 150 women per night.

TRAC - Tenant Resource & Advisory Centre

Offers basic information about your rights as a tenant, including information on evictions, repairs, security deposits, rent increases and arbitration hearings. The line is often busy, so you may want to leave a message and someone will call you back on the next business day.

Spirit Way - Helping Spirit Lodge Society

Transition Houses 24 hours, 7 days a week.A supportive and holistic long-term residential program for Aboriginal women and children. Housing is provided for up to 18 months. Our programs combine both culturally appropriate and mainstream methods of healing. We use holistic healing methods based on the First Nation's culture including cultural and spiritual ceremonies and teachings of the medicine wheel.

Friendship and support from Aboriginal women who are non-judgmental caregivers.  An education awareness in regards to family violence prevention.Legal referrals and support for you and your children. Referrals for specialized counsellors: for example, sexual abuse. Referrals for specialized treatments: for example, drug and or alcohol addiction.

Whether you are just starting out, or changing direction, our Case Managers can make referrals to career exploration programs to get you heading down the right path. Book an appointment by phone or in person.

Sage Transition House - North Shore Crisis Services Society

Transition house for women and children fleeing abuse. General support, 30 day stay. 24 hour crisis line. Outreach services for women experiencing abuse, present or in the past living on the North Shore. Safe House - Family Services of Greater Vancouver

Safe House is a voluntary seven-day co-ed residential program for youth aged 16 - 18 years who are absent from home and street-involved or in danger of becoming so. Safe House also accepts parenting teens. The program has access to support services for as assistance in finding accomodations, education, and work. It provides referrals for addiction issues, pregnancy, legal problems, medical concerns, care cards, and advocacy with the Ministry of Children and Family Development and issues relating to income assistance. Safe House is open for self-referrals.

RainCity Housing and Support Society

RainCity Housing and Support Society, formerly Triage Emergency Services & Care Society, is a grassroots organization built around compassion, purpose and a commitment to delivering progressive housing and support solutions for people living with mental illness, addictions and other challenges. The men and women who benefit from the services of RainCity Housing are treated with dignity and respect, and are offered a safe place to live, independence and improved quality of life. Since 1982, RainCity Housing has provided shelter and housing for thousands of people in the Lower Mainland.

Portland Community Clinic

(Closed for lunch Monday to Thursday 1 - 2 pm) The goal of the Portland Community Clinic is to provide quality dental care at a reduced fee or accept assignment of benefits of all dental insurance plans to all residents or job training participants within the boundaries of the Downtown Eastside Community (postal codes to begin with V6A or V6B). Bring a carecard or number for dental insurance specifics and or a form of identification stating your name and current address prior to booking.

Maurice McElrea Place - UGM

This location provides the next step for men and women who have gone through treatment, providing them affordable clean, drug and alcohol free housing for as long as they have need.Staff are on site should they require any assistance. In addition, one block away at Union Gospel Mission (616 East Cordova) the staff are available should they require additional help.

Lookout Emergency Aid Society

Lookout Emergency Aid Society is a non-profit, charitable organization, providing non-sectarian lay services to adult men and women who cope with a wide variety of challenges including mental illness, mental handicaps, medical problems, physical disabilities, social dysfunctions, substance abuse or - more frequently - a combination of issues.

Kate Booth House

Provides a safe, secure residential environment in a confidential location for women and children fleeing family violence. Program includes a 24-hour crisis line and child support program. Funded by MCS.

Housing Support - Directions Youth Services Centre  (Family Services of Greater Vancouver

Providing support to Vancouver's homeless youth and youth at-risk. The Housing Support program at Directions assists homeless youth aged 18 years and under in securing safe and affordable housing. In addition to assisting with housing needs, housing workers also work with the youth to develop the life skills necessary to maintain housing, as well as any other resource planning required. Ages served: The Housing Support program is primarily available to youth aged 18 and under, although additional support is offered to youth aged 19 - 24.
