Tradeworks Training Society has been offering training and employment programs in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver since 1993. Each program is centered in the belief that mutual respect is key to any relationship, and that a hand up is more lasting than a handout.

Together We Can Society (TWC) has emerged in the last decade as one of British Columbia’s leading residential treatment programs for men challenged by drug and/or alcohol addiction. Located in Vancouver, clients live as a part of a supportive residential community where they participate in group therapy and an integrated treatment program. The first stage residential program accomodates 42 males aged 19 years or older, who share 5 comfortable homes in a quiet residential neighbourhood.

The Job Shop - Tradeworks Training Society

The Job Shop is the only one of its kind. Since 2001 The Job Shop has worked with over 600 people to support them in getting back to work.The program is flexible enough to provide the type of support needed to find the right job in today's world of work in Vancouver and beyond.Once you are accepted into The Job Shop we commit to working with you for up to 10 weeks. In return we expect you to attend every day and focus on finding leads, applying for jobs and facing what you may need to change.

The Gathering Place Community Centre

Drop-in membership $1.00 per year. Pool Room ($5.00 membership per year), Card/Games Room, TV Room, Cafeteria with low cost meals, Arts and Crafts, Pottery and Photography programs, Fitness/Weight Room, a Learning Centre, Laundry and personal services. They have a youth worker and a volunteer program where people can work for 4 hours in most areas in the centre for meal tickets, arts and yoga.

The Crosswalk - The Salvation Army

Provides emergency accommodation for 35 adults. Opens at 11:30 pm, and coffee and snacks are served at 8 am. Thursday afternoon drop-in offers coffee, community information, and spirituality discussion. Hours and days expand beginning of April. Wheelchair accessible.

The Centre is a community resource providing support, health and social services, and public education for the well being of lesbians, gay men, transgendered and bisexual people and their allies in Vancouver and throughout BC. Aurora  Treatment Centre

Located in Vancouver at BC Women’s Hospital & Health Centre, the Aurora Centre has been providing addiction treatment services to women for over thirty years. Aurora is the largest women’s-only treatment facility in B.C. providing both residential and day treatment services with twenty-nine beds and space for 10 people in the day treatment program. We also conduct reasearch on women and addictions and take a leadership role in promoting improved addiction services to women in BC.
