Crabtree Corner Family Resource Centre provides programs and services for families who need them the most. Located in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside, one of Canada's most impoverished neighbourhoods, Crabtree Corner helps women and their families improve the qaulity of their lives.

Vancouver Aboriginal Child and Family Services Society (VACFSS)

Vancouver Aboriginal Child and Family Services Society (VACFSS) is a non profit society providing delegated (Guardianship, Residential Resources and Aboriginal Intake and Family Services) and non-delegated (Family Preservation and Reunification) services to Aboriginal children and families in the Greater Vancouver area. VACFSS helps urban Aboriginal children, youth and families become stronger through culturally actualized programs and support.

Parent Support Services of BC

Parent Support Circles are free, confidential, anonymous, weekly meetings of parents who wish to learn new ways to nurture and protect their children.

Options for Sexual Health

Options for Sexual Health is a non-profit society supporting reproductive choice and healthy sexuality.  We offer information and services for all aspects of sexual and reproductive health through 50 clinics across BC, the 1-800 SEX SENSE Line, and educational materials.  Sexual health education programs are available for students, parents and professionals.

Healthiest Babies Possible

Healthiest Babies Possible is a pregnancy outreach program supporting pregnant women of all ages living in Vancouver or Richmond. Services are free and available in many languages. Healthiest Babies Possible supports women to have healthy pregnancies and improved lifestyles, with a focus on nutrition. Our staff believes that each woman’s situation is unique and that she is the expert in her own life.

Focus YWCA

They provide two services. Focus at Work: Offers 3 week workshops to assist women of any age assess their skills, establish clear career goals and acquire the job search skills necessary to obtain and maintain employment. Career and Education Centre: Assists young single mothers age 16 - 24 years to prepare for and access further education and vocational training or to obtain suitable employment.

Family Services of Greater Vancouver

Safe House is a voluntary seven-day co-ed residential program for youth aged 16 - 18 years who are absent from home and street-involved or in danger of becoming so. Safe House also accepts parenting teens. The program has access to support services for assistance in finding accommodations, education, and work. It provides referrals for addiction issues, pregnancy, legal problems, medical concerns/care cards, and advocacy with the Ministry of Children and Family Development and issues relating to income assistance.

Everywoman's Health Centre

Call for an appointment: doctor or self referral. They provide reproductive health services: birth control, abortions, etc. Includes “no pressure” decision making counselling, pre and post abortion counselling and STD screening and treatment.

Crisis Pregnancy Centre

Call ahead to make an appointment. Offers counselling for unexpected pregnancies. They provide free pregnancy tests, education on pregnancy, abortion risks and techniques, and alternatives to abortion as well as post-abortion grief support. They can provide you with free maternity clothes, baby clothes, baby food, pre-natal classes and referrals.

Aunt Leah's Independent Lifeskills Society

Aunt Leah's Independent Lifeskills Society is dedicated to assisting youth and families in learning the necessary lifeskills for successful independent living.  We have three main areas of service:  1)Residential 2) Life skills 3) Pre employment training.
