The WISH Clinic is an on-site clinic located within the WISH Drop-In Centre. This clinic is staffed by Nurse Practitioners from BC Women Health Collective twice a week. It is so important for WISH participants to be able to access a safe, women-only clinic in a familiar setting like WISH.
SWAN supports newcomer, migrant and immigrant women engaged in indoor sex work. Our membership includes women from diverse cultural backgrounds who speak various languages. We use this diversity to build a community network that supports women who work in massage parlours, private residences and other indoor sites. Trans* & gender-diverse migrant and immigrant women are welcome.
We offer 1-on-1 support, drop-in services, peer outreach, and weekly social groups. We understand the importance of providing non-judgmental services and building upon the strengths and experiences of sex workers. We promote safer working conditions by reducing harm and isolation through education and support. We believe that Sex Workers are valuable members of our community and are entitled to the same rights as all other human beings.
The purpose of the MAP Van is to increase sex working women health and safety, particularly in those areas where there are few or no services open late at night. MAP Van staff provide brief respite from the street, coffee, juice and water as well as supplies, including condoms and clean needles. They can also refer women to emergency shelters, health care services and other supports.
